Poor English – revealed again

In The Times last Friday (August 17th 2012) Prof JR Shackleton of the U of Buckingham wrote about the work of A-level students around the E-grade border and said, “.…they can rarely express themselves clearly and show little acquaintance with the subject they have supposedly studied.”
Poor literacy standards will let down students of any subject for, without the ability to express themselves clearly, they can surely convey little of anything. No matter how clever, without the ability to set out their ideas and understanding in writing they are failures.
