Mother to inflict fatherlessness on her child

Last week The Times reported that an Italian court has allowed a woman to use frozen embryos despite the objection of the father from whom she is now estranged. (Woman, 43, wins the right World p.31 The Times March 1st 2021)
Like other cases,  some also involving artificial means to bring about the birth of a child, it is the interests of one or more of the adults involved that seems to be of paramount concern, rather than a determination that babies should not be denied one parent even before they are born.
Whether by natural or artificial means, a mother and a father are involved in the conception of every child. Why should every child not expect to enjoy loving care from both a mother and a father?
