Grammatically, verbs represent actions, actions that we can hear or see, such as clapping or walking. Some verbs help us to understand someone or something. In this grammatical sense having something, or being something is an action.
Why is it important to recognise verbs?
Essentially a verb tells us about an action or something about the world. The verb provided the core of a sentence; without one the other words make less sense.
