Footballer’s arrogance – wants fine reduced

Ballack, the former captain of Germany’s football team, expects to pay only a tenth of a speeding fine because, he claims, despite fabulous earrings as a player he now has no income. Special pleading by a less than ordinary person.

This is where the cult of celebrity starts. I am a celebrity so the laws of the land do not quite apply to me so I can take a chance and ignore them.

This is the same celebrity status that Savile misused. The rest of us should grow out of celebrity worship and insist that they too grow up and drop the pretense that they are special people.
